The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has approved the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on 68 legal practitioners.

The committee’s Secretary and Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir Akanbi, said the decision was taken at the LPPC’s 174th plenary session held on July 23, 2026.

According to the LPPC, all successful applicants must attend a mandatory pre-swearing-in induction programme before the conferment of the rank and are prohibited from publishing or encouraging congratulatory advertisements or goodwill messages related to their nomination.

The successful applicants will be sworn in on October 12, 2026.

Among the new SAN conferees are Ibrahim Gamdeh Adamu, Jude Chukwuemeka Okafor, Goodwill Achibong Umoh, Sunday Samuel Obende, Adebayo Olugbenga Adaralegbe, Jimson Ejovi Okodaso, Olalekan Lawrence Bade-John and several others.
