Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested two suspected collaborators of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during an intelligence-led operation in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the operation was carried out by troops of the 109 Special Forces Battalion and Hybrid Forces following credible intelligence.

The suspects, Modu Collu, 20, and Bashir Goni Tijani, 47, were reportedly arrested on July 28, with preliminary interrogation indicating they admitted to collaborating with terrorists operating in the area.

Troops also recovered a Tecno mobile phone from one of the suspects, while both men and the recovered exhibit have been handed over for further investigation.

The arrests form part of ongoing Operation DESERT SANITY V, aimed at dismantling terrorist support networks and disrupting insurgent logistics across Nigeria’s North-East.
