EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede says the commission will appeal a court ruling that dismissed its application to forfeit nine properties linked to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

Speaking at the Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime in the United Kingdom, Olukoyede said the EFCC traced 57 properties to Malami and had secured the final forfeiture of 48.

A Federal High Court had ruled that the commission failed to establish that the remaining nine properties in Kebbi and Kaduna were acquired through unlawful means.

Olukoyede also said the EFCC would reward whistleblowers with between 2.5 and five per cent of recovered assets when information provided leads to the recovery of stolen Nigerian assets.
