The Nasarawa State Government says the ongoing 2.6-kilometre Mararaba-Nyanya Flyover and adjoining road project is expected to be completed by December 2026.

Managing Director of the Nasarawa State Urban Development Board, Engr. Wada Yahaya, disclosed this during an inspection tour of infrastructure projects in the state by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Media Tour.

Yahaya said the project, which includes two flyover bridges, an elevated road and five pedestrian bridges, is designed to ease congestion and improve connectivity between Nasarawa State and Abuja.

He put the construction cost at nearly N40 billion, with compensation and road furniture expected to bring the total cost to about N43–N44 billion.

According to him, the project could reduce travel time between Abuja and Keffi from more than two hours to less than 40 minutes while boosting economic activity in the area.

The inspection team also visited the completed Lafia Flyover, Underpass and Interchange, the ongoing Dalhatu Arab Specialist Hospital in Akwanga, the Total Flyover and Underpass in Keffi, and the completed Akwanga Interchange and Underpass.

Director of Media and Publicity of the tour, Tunde Rahman, said the projects reflected the impact of increased federal allocations and economic reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He said the reforms had provided states with greater fiscal space to undertake infrastructure and healthcare projects, describing the developments in Nasarawa and neighbouring Benue State as evidence of the benefits of the Federal Government’s policies.
