First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has presented food items worth millions of naira to vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities, in Bauchi State under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
The items were handed over to the wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, for distribution to beneficiaries.
Represented by the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, the First Lady said the programme was designed to support vulnerable Nigerians and address food insecurity and malnutrition.
She disclosed that the intervention had reached 28 states and the FCT, with Bauchi becoming the 29th beneficiary. Katsina and Akwa Ibom are expected to benefit next.
Aisha Bala Mohammed commended the initiative, adding that financial assistance would also be distributed to vulnerable groups across the state’s 20 local government areas.
