The opening matchday of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League produced several impressive results on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Arsenal among the teams securing victories. UEFA confirmed all 12 results from the two matchdays.

On Tuesday, Real Madrid defeated Inter Milan 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu, while Manchester City beat Porto 2-0. Aston Villa came from behind to defeat Club Brugge 3-2, Borussia Dortmund edged Villarreal 3-2 and Real Betis secured a 3-2 away victory over Lille. AEK Athens also defeated LASK 1-0.

Wednesday produced more emphatic victories. Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain opened their campaign with a 6-1 demolition of Slovan Bratislava, while Barcelona thrashed Feyenoord 5-1. Liverpool came from behind to beat Atlético Madrid 2-1 at Anfield, and Arsenal claimed a narrow 1-0 win away to Napoli. Sporting CP defeated Galatasaray 3-1, while Stuttgart beat Viking 3-1.

PSG’s Ferran Torres was among the standout performers after scoring a hat-trick on his Champions League debut for the club. Barcelona’s five-goal display and Arsenal’s hard-fought victory in Naples also highlighted a strong opening for several of Europe’s leading clubs.
