Dr. Joan Aizeinomon Agbonikhena is a passionate dentist, entrepreneur and  veritable healthcare leader . She is dedicated to uplifting dentistry and oral health care delivery in Nigeria. She boasts over 20 years of work experience in both public and private sectors in the healthcare industry.

Agbonikhena holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria. She also specialized in Orthodontics and is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. She  possesses certifications in Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington, USA, and a Post graduate degree in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry from The British Academy of Restorative Dentistry.

In 2020 she founded De-twist Dental Specialist Clinic with the vision to provide exceptional, patient- centered dental care in line with global standards, leveraging technology. Under her leadership, the clinic has successfully transitioned into a larger, more advanced facility, significantly increasing its capacity, team strength, and service offerings.

She has implemented structured systems, performance-driven processes, and patient-centered strategies that have improved clinical outcomes, enhanced patient experience, and positioned the practice for sustainable growth and scalability.

As a dental educator driven by a deep commitment to community impact, Dr. Agbonikhena runs “DrjoneeDentalDairy” — a series of short, engaging and enlightening content on YouTube, with a mission to bridge the gap between dental health and overall well-being.  Agbonikhena actively champions oral health awareness through school outreach programs, public health education and initiatives targeted at underserved populations.

Her work continues to bridge the gap between quality dental care and accessibility within her community. In recognition of her commitment to delivering excellent healthcare, she was honoured with the prestigious Florence Nightingale Peace Award by UN-POLAC in April 2026.

She is married to Mr. Aminu Agbonikhena and they are blessed with three girls and a boy.

It is in recognition of her Sterling Accomplishments in Dentistry and Oral Health in Nigeria that Dr. Joan Aizeinomon Agbonikhena is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award.
