Mrs. Kehinde Olufunmilola Mgba is an accomplished musculoskeletal physiotherapist, healthcare entrepreneur, acupuncturist and Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) practitioner whose career spans over a decade of clinical experience across the United Kingdom and Nigeria. Through her work in physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation and integrative wellness, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes, advancing rehabilitation services and making quality physiotherapy more accessible to diverse communities.

Her professional foundation is supported by a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy, awarded by King’s College London, where she graduated with Second Class Honours, Upper Division. She has further enhanced her clinical scope through specialist training and certifications, including qualification as an Acupuncturist with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in June 2018, certification as a Yoga and Barre Instructor in 2020, and certification as a Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine practitioner in September 2026. This combination of expertise enables her to bring an integrative perspective to rehabilitation and wellness.

As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bodymotions Physio Lounge, a musculoskeletal physiotherapy and wellness clinic in Ikoyi, Lagos, Kehinde has translated her clinical expertise into an entrepreneurial vision focused on comprehensive, patient-centred care. Since establishing the clinic in January 2021, she has led the delivery of physiotherapy, acupuncture and complementary therapies to individuals, private companies, sports clubs and healthcare centres. In addition to overseeing the clinic’s operations, she develops and delivers clinical training for employees, contributing to professional development and the delivery of quality services.

Mrs. Mgba’s professional journey is distinguished by a breadth of clinical experience gained across respected healthcare institutions in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. Her career includes service as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at Ascenti Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in Liverpool, where she assessed and treated NHS, medico-legal, occupational health and private patients. She also worked with the Greater Manchester Clinical Assessment Therapy Services, Ealing Hospital NHS Trust, Conquest Hospital in Hastings and Nobles Hospital on the Isle of Man. These roles strengthened her experience in musculoskeletal assessment, rehabilitation, patient education and multidisciplinary healthcare collaboration.

Her contribution to sports medicine and athletic rehabilitation is another defining aspect of her career. As Sports Therapist at Making Of Champions (MoC) Ltd in Lagos, she helped build the organisation’s Sports Therapy Department to international standards for professional athletics clubs. Her responsibilities included organising bi-weekly acupuncture clinics and providing therapeutic support at competitions and Grand Prix events. This experience reflects her ability to apply specialist rehabilitation knowledge in demanding sporting environments, where effective injury management and physical recovery are essential.

Mrs. Kehinde Mgba’s commitment to professional development and knowledge-sharing is evident throughout her career. During her time at Ascenti Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, she led weekly in-service training sessions for clinical mentees. At Nobles Hospital, she contributed to the clinical education and mentoring of junior physiotherapists, while other roles involved supporting students on placement and educating medical students about the role of physiotherapy. These experiences highlight her dedication not only to patient care but also to developing the knowledge and capabilities of other healthcare professionals.

Beyond her clinical practice and business leadership, Kehinde demonstrates a commitment to community service through initiatives that extend physiotherapy support to people and groups who may face barriers to accessing rehabilitation. Since 2025, Bodymotions Physio Lounge has participated in annual World Physiotherapy Day outreach activities, providing free physiotherapy sessions to other rehabilitation centres, including prison facilities. Since 2021, she has also been involved in an annual free, one-day physiotherapy clinic for athletes. These initiatives reflect her belief in the importance of community engagement and the role of rehabilitation in supporting health, mobility and participation in everyday life.

Her contributions have received external recognition. She was named a finalist at the iLab Health Impact Awards in August 2019. Kehinde Mgba represents the qualities of a modern healthcare professional: clinical competence, entrepreneurial initiative, a commitment to continuous learning and a willingness to serve beyond the confines of routine practice. Through Bodymotions Physio Lounge, her work in sports therapy, her mentoring of emerging professionals and her community outreach activities, she continues to contribute to the development of physiotherapy and rehabilitation services in Nigeria.

It is in recognition of her Sterling Accomplishments in Physiotherapy and Medical Rehabilitation Services in Nigeria that Mrs. Kehinde Olufunmilola Mgba is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award.
