Members of the Boko Haram insurgent group on Sunday night invaded Makalama village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, killing at least one person and injuring scores of others.

An eyewitness and resident of the community who identified himself as Adam Ibrahim said he was among the thousands of residents who fled into the nearby bush when the terrorists stormed the community.

Ibrahim said: “The insurgents came shooting into our village and everybody fled into the bush.  They spent the night in the bush. It was a very bad experience.”
