Dr Olayide Adebowale Jinadu is a medical practitioner, entrepreneur, YouTuber, content creator, researcher and medical tourism expert. He has certifications in mother and child health, infertility management, trauma and emergency care, project management in global health as well as leadership and management in healthcare. His career goal, he says, is to be a major contributor to the Nigerian and African healthcare sector as well as the global health space.
Dr Jinadu is the founder and Chief Medical Director of Charis-Med Hospital which is based in Ejigbo, Isolo, Lagos.
At Charis-Med, he is in charge of the core management of numerous conditions especially gynaecological and obstetric surgeries, emergency and trauma cases and basic paediatric emergencies while working with other competent healthcare professionals.
He provides oversight for all medically related conditions brought into the hospital facility. He also facilitates the orgainsation of programs, medical outreaches and innovative access to healthcare for underserved communities.
Aside from Charis-Med, Dr Olayide Adebowale Jinadu has worked in other hospitals where he gathered vast experience. For instance, he was Operating Officer at Primefort Hospital, Lagos from April 2018 to January 2020. He was Medical Officer at Safe Hands Medical Centre, Lagos from September 2015 to August 2017.
Other health facilities where he worked include 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Lagos where he did his medical internship. He also worked briefly at Cedar Crest Orthopaedic Hospitals, Lagos. For his National Youth Service, he was Medical Officer at States Hospital, Ota, Ogun State.
The young Olayide Jinadu began his education at Bosby Day Nursery & Primary School, Yaba in 1989. He went on to attend Command Day Secondary School Ikeja from 1995 to 2001.
Between 2006 and 2013, he studied Medicine at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile–Ife, Osun State, and graduated with an M.B.Ch.B.
Dr Jinadu has attended many professional trainings and earned various certifications. In 2015 for instance, he attended an Asthma Crash Course by the global pharmaceutical giant, AstraZeneca. In 2016, he undertook training with the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The same year, he went through training with the American College of Surgeons in Advanced Trauma Life Support.
He has also undergone some training with the University of Washington in Leadership and Management in Healthcare, Infection Prevention and Control, Clinical Management of HIV and Global Mental Health.
In 2021, he trained at Harvard Medical School on Collaborative Care Approaches for the Management of Opioid Disorder; Identification, Counselling and Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder and Understanding Addiction.
Outside the four walls of the hospital, Olayide Jinadu has been involved in medical philanthropy. Under Junior Chambers International, he volunteers quarterly to attend to the medical needs of individuals in low–income areas.
Under Yide Care Foundation, he has organized and participated in medical outreaches in his community. He has also rendered financial support to women and children who have genuine financial constraints in paying hospital bills.
It is in recognition of his contribution to national development in the area of Human Medicine and Health Facility Management that Dr Olayide Adebowale Jinadu was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Development in Nigeria Merit Award which is part of the PSR National Awards.
