Ndume

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally requested the resignation of Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South), urging him to join either the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or another opposition party. This development was conveyed in a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

The letter, signed by APC National Chairman Alhaji Umar Ganduje and National Secretary Senator Surajudeen Basiru, also announced the removal of Ndume from his position as Chief Whip of the 10th Senate. He has been replaced by Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno (APC, Borno North).

According to the letter, the decision was driven by Ndume’s frequent complaints about President Bola Tinubu and his perceived unfavorable remarks towards the Federal Government.

The request for Ndume’s resignation was put to a voice vote by Senate President Akpabio and was loudly affirmed by all the APC Senators present.
