Dr. (Mrs.) Temitope Adebisi Amodu is the Head of the Speech Pathology and Special Education Department at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba (Oshodi Annex), Lagos. With over 18 years of dedicated experience, she has significantly contributed to developing and caring for children with special needs, earning her recognition as a leading expert in the field.

Dr. Amodu holds a Ph.D. in Speech Pathology and two master’s degrees in the same discipline, from the University of Calabar (M.Ed.) and the University of Ibadan (M.Ed. Speech Pathology and Audiology). She also obtained a B.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from Lagos State University and a National Certificate in Special Education (NCE) with a focus on children with hearing impairments from the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo.

Further broadening her expertise, she earned a certificate in autism training from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and holds a Montessori certification for working with both regular and special needs children.

Dr. Amodu is a behavioral analyst specializing in children with special needs and possesses numerous certifications in speech therapy, special education, and childhood psychiatric disorders. Her professional affiliations are vast, including memberships in the Speech Pathologists and Audiologists Association of Nigeria (SPAAN), Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board (MRTB), Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), and the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET). She is also active in organizations such as the Association of Families and Professionals for Autism Support (AFPA), Lagos State Office of Disability Affairs (LASODA), and the Association of Nursery and Primary Educators in Nigeria (ANIPEN).

As the CEO of Amtowa Schools and Speech Therapy Consult, Temitope has established herself as a trailblazer in education and therapeutic interventions for children with special needs. She has authored several research papers and articles published in local and international journals, contributing to advancements in speech pathology and special education. Her work has garnered numerous honorary awards and grants, reflecting her exceptional impact on individuals with speech and language disorders.
