World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion, Vasyl Lomachenko has said that fighting Manny Pacquiao will not do him any good as he believes the Phillipino has passed the climax of his career.

The 29-year-old who dominated and stopped underdog, Jason Sosa in the HBO main event in Maryland on Saturday night, said fighting and beating Manny now would not carry the same weight as it would have a few years ago.

“In terms of fighting Manny Pacquiao, he is near the end of his career. In the next two years, he will be at the end of his career. And I’m not going to go in there and beat up an old guy. It’s completely nonsense for me to chase him,” Lomachenko told Sporting News.

The two-time Ukrainian Olympic champion who said Pacquiao was ageing, berated those comparing them, saying he started his career at 25 while he was fully developed while Manny started his at 18, when his body was still in its formative years.

There have been reports of a possible match-up between these two widely-recognized pugilists, but they are worlds apart on the weight class for such a fight.
