Apparently disturbed by the events playing out in the current administration, Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is under a trance.
In a press briefing released on Monday on the increasing agitations across the country following attacks by armed herdsmen on farming communities, Prof. Soyinka said he was dissatisfied with the manner the Buhari administration has handled the matter.
When asked during the briefing what he would tell the President if they met, Soyinka replied: “I would say: Mr. President, I think you are under a trance. The sooner he gets out of it the better. So many unforced errors are going on.”
Soyinka cited the President’s recall of the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Usman Yusuf after he was suspended by the Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole for alleged graft as a glaring and recent unforced error by the government.
