Lots of Hollywood actors crave to see Pope Francis in the Vatican but three on Sunday had the rare privilege of being awarded medals by the pontiff.
Richard Gere, George Clooney and Salma Hayek— all A-list actors, were made ambassadors of Scholas Occurentes, an international education organisation founded by the Pope. All three celebs were awarded the “Medal of the Olive” by the Pontiff for their humanitarian work.
The foundation aims to connect technology with arts and sports in order to promote social integration and the culture of encounter for peace.
