Former Super Eagles coach, Amodu Shuaibu has died. Amodu is believed to have died in his sleep this morning in Benin City, Edo State.
Amodu had a successful career in managing football clubs such as the BCC Lions, El-Kanemi Warriors, and Shooting Stars. He also managed the Orlando Pirates of South Africa. He was appointed manager of the Super Eagles in October 2014, to replace the late Stephen Keshi and stepped down two weeks later. He got the job back again in 2015.
This has been a sad week for Nigeria, losing two great football coaches.
The Technical Director of the Nigerian Football Federation and former coach of Nigeria’s national team, has been buried according to Islamic law in his hometown of Okpella, Etsako-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
