A terminal of the famous John F. Kennedy airport in New York, USA, was temporarily evacuated today following a terror threat. Investigators however disclosed that what led to the evacuation was the report of a suspicious bag thought to be carrying a bomb. It turned out to be a false alarm.
A military police dog was deployed by the US Homeland Security to sniff out the bag which was located at Terminal Five. Spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Joe Pentangelo said: “The bomb squad had responded and roadways to the area were temporarily closed. The package was cleared and the terminal resumed normal operations.”
This comes less than a day after popular airport, the Istanbul Ataturk in Turkey was rocked by three bombings from suicide bombers.
