The United States of America is on high terror alert after a backpack containing up to five explosive devices was discovered at a train station in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The bag which was found in a dustbin outside a neighbourhood bar was located 500 feet from a train trestle.
This finding comes only a few days after a bomb blast occurring in the Chelsea district of New York City injured 29 people. Security officials then found another explosive some few blocks away from the explosion’s epicentre. The blast also occurred on the same a day a bomb went off near a Marine Corps charity run event in New Jersey and an ISIS attacker stabbed nine people in a mall in the state of Minnesota.
Apparently to calm the fears, mayor of Elizabeth, Christian Bollwage has said: “Whoever threw it into the can was probably trying to get rid of it. It’s not in a highly congested area.” However, commuters in the Elizabeth area have been advised to abandon trains and seek alternate means of transportation. Elizabeth is located 16 miles southwest of New York City.
