Wife of Nigeria’s President, Aisha Buhari returned from the United Kingdom on Tuesday morning, a week after she travelled to visit her husband who is on medical leave.
According to a statement released by her spokesman, Suleiman Haruna, Mrs. Buhari on arrival, conveyed the President’s appreciation to all Nigerians for their constant prayers.
The statement also quoted her as saying that the President, who is responding positively to treatment, needed some rest and would soon return to the country.
“He still needs some rest but as long as the VP is in control, we are in safe hands,” she said.
While appreciating Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for his loyalty, Mrs Buhari further called on all Nigerians to be steadfast in the face of challenges and continue to support the Federal Government in carrying out the programmes for which they were elected.
“Mr. President thanked the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo for his loyalty and called on Nigerians to continue to support the Acting President in his efforts to actualize the mandate of the All Progressives Congress,” she said.
Mrs. Buhari had on May 30, travelled to the United Kingdom to spend some time with her husband who had travelled for another round of treatment on May 7.
