Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed has stated that restructuring the country is not a priority for the President Muhammadu Buhari government because of the numerous problems it inherited from the previous government.
The minister stated this on Thursday when he featured on “Focus Nigeria,” a current affairs programme aired by the Africa Independent Television (AIT).
Mohammed explained that the current administration could not have contemplated restructuring the country with the high level of corruption, economic downturn and insecurity currently being experienced in the country.
The minister also used the opportunity to tell Nigerians to ignore and disregard any threats from any region of the country as the government would not be found wanting in the discharge of its primary responsibility of protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.
He further revealed that apart from fulfilling its campaign promises and cleaning the mess left by the Goodluck Jonathan administration, the government had been spending heavily on infrastructure development particularly roads, railways and power.
