Dr Maria Oluyemisi Ayoade is a seasoned physician. She is a widely acknowledged paediatrician who is highly skilled in neonatology. These several years, she has been a Visiting Consultant in paediatrics and neonatology to many hospitals in the city of Lagos.

For a woman who has come this far in the noble profession of medicine, it is not surprising that she is today the Medical Director of Victoria Island Consultancy and Hospital Services. She combines that function with her status as Consultant Paediatrician of the medical outfit.

Maria Oluyemisi Ayoade is an alumnus of the famous University of Ibadan. She trained at the prestigious University College Hospital (UCH) and graduated with a solid medical degree in 1990.

After working for some years in Lagos, she departed Nigeria for the United Kingdom to do postgraduate specialty training in Paediatrics and Child Health.

It was while she was undergoing postgraduate training that she developed a keen interest in Neonatology. She is certified in both Paediatrics and Neonatal Life Support.

Back in Nigeria, Dr Ayoade has worked in both government and private hospitals. She is always abreast with current trends and developments in her field. She attends conferences both at home and abroad.

Oluyemisi is an avid reader who enjoys all aspects of the creative arts. She is also involved in charity and volunteer work for courses she believes in. She loves to serve the needy and she is an active member of her church society.

It is in recognition of her accomplishments in the field of Medicine & Orthodox Medical Practice that Dr Maria Oluyemisi Ayoade is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award which is part of the 2017 PSR National Awards.
