Mr. Musibau Ayobami Akintola is a man with an exceptionally creative mind. With that as an asset, he embarked on a major project which aims to promote Yoruba Language and culture.

He founded ‘Ewe Ede Yoruba’ which means Beauty of Yoruba Language—a blog which aims to teach aspects of the language to speakers and non—speakers of Yoruba.

Ewe Ede Yoruba is something of a revolution in the teaching, dissemination and promotion of African languages. The website is a unique access into the uniqueness, richness and attraction of this African language.

Musibau was born in the city of Ibadan on June 6, 1965. He had his secondary school education at Elekuro High School, Ibadan from 1981 to 1985. He took courses at the Institute of Export of Nigeria, Yaba, Lagos between 1993 and 1995 and earned a Diploma in Export & Shipping.

Not done with education, he enrolled at the Lagos State University, Ojo in 2003, graduating with a B.Sc in Marketing in 2010. He is currently studying for his Masters in Business Administration at the National Open University of Nigeria.

Musibau Akintola’s working life began as a Studio Cameraman at Austex & Associates Enterprises, Oshodi, Lagos in 1986. He joined the Pipelines & Products Marketing Company Ltd, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in 1991 as a Clerk. He has since moved up to the position of Sales Officer in the company.

It is in recognition of his contribution to national development in the sphere of Language Education, Interpretation & Translation that Mr. Musibau Ayobami Akintola is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Development In Nigeria Merit Award which is part of the 2017 PSR National Awards.
