Mr. Yunusa Yahaya Ogaji is a consummate and highly resourceful accountant . He is also a time-tested corporate manager. This proud son of Kogi State  has rendered meritorious service  in both  public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Ogaji, who is today, a chartered accountant started his working career at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria as Accountant II in 1993; and in 1994, he joined the service (as Audit Officer I) of the National Board for Community Banks (NBCB) in Abuja—a government regulatory agency that was mandated to regulate operations of community banks at that time which later metamorphosed into micro-finance banks in Nigeria today.

While in NBCB, he served in different capacities for a period of seventeen (17) years and was known for hard work and dedication to duty.

Following the take-over of the functions of NBCB by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the winding up of the Board in December 2010, Mr. Y.Y. Ogaji moved to private sector jobs where he served in different capacities again from 2011 to 2013. He re-joined the Federal Civil Service as Deputy Director of Finance and Accounts in the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Yaba, Lagos in the last quarter of 2013 where he currently serves as Deputy Director and Acting Head of the Department of Finance and Accounts.

He is known for obedience, hard work and dedication to his duties.

It is in recognition of his contribution to  national development in the field of Accounting that Mr. Yunusa Yahaya Ogaji is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Development in Nigeria Merit Award which is part of the PSR National Awards.
