Isaac Drogba, son of Cote d’ Ivoire’s football legend, Didier Drogba has joined French Ligue I side, Guingamp 16 years after his father signed for the club from Le Mans.
The 17-year-old Isaac who plays as a striker just like his father had previously played for the academy team of English Premier League giants, Chelsea.
Drogba who scored 24 goals in 50 appearances of Guingamp posted on Instagram: “Couldn’t be more proud of you, Isaac Drogba.”
The two-time African Footballer of the Year winner spent less than two seasons at Guingamp’s Stade de Roudourou before signing for Marseille where he spent a year before he was snapped up by Chelsea in 2004.
Whereas Didier Drogba played 104 times for Cote d’ I voire, captaining the national team in the African Nations Cup and World Cup games, he told the media in 2015 that his son, who was born in France wanted to play for England.
