The National Chairman of the Democratic Peoples’ Congress (DPC), Reverend Olusegun Peters has said that the party will present a credible, visionary, purposeful and dynamic presidential candidate for the 2019 general elections.

In a statement he released on Tuesday in Abuja, Peters said consultations were ongoing with major stakeholders in the political process with a view to carrying all the geopolitical zones in the country along with and producing a candidate that will transform the nation and restore her lost glory.

“DPC is the first political party to release its manifesto and blueprint for the 2019 general elections during its first elective national convention held in Abuja on 22nd February, 2018.

“It is our social contract with the good people of Nigeria aimed at progressive governance and prosperity to the long suffering compatriots impoverished by decades of poor leadership.

“The APC-led Federal Government has failed Nigerians. DPC is the credible alternative to the ruling APC. The masses are worse off today than they were three years ago when the Buhari government came into power with a fake promise of change,” the statement said.

He urged Nigerians to join the party en masse across the country as according to him, the party had the capability and credibility to take over power at the centre from the APC that it said has been suffering from leadership fatigue since it assumed office on May 29, 2015.

The DPC warned against the barbaric and outrageous registration of under-aged voters in some parts of the country and called on security agencies in the country to arrest and prosecute perpetrators of such unpatriotic acts to act as a deterrent to others.
