Amida Ishola Odebiyi is a mechanical engineer who has recorded many impressive accomplishments. He is hard-working, resourceful and very committee when it comes to getting a project done. He is the Executive Director of Hurlag Technologies Ltd, an engineering company which has earned a solid reputation from the projects it has handled.

Engr. Odebiyi is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos. Born on August 4, 1964, he comes from Igbesa in Ado – Odo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Before joining Hurlag Technologies Ltd, he had worked with other notable engineering firms such as Aklab Nigeria Ltd as Assistant Project Engineer and Project Engineer. He has led many engineering crews to very important projects. Some of these project engagements are:

  • Building a brewery for Sab-Miller Brewery, Onitsha.
  • On-going building of the biggest brewery plant in West Africa at Sagamu for AB – IBEV (Head of Insulations, with Hurlag).
  • Turn – Around Maintenance in Kaduna and Warri refineries with Aklab Nigeria Ltd.
  • Various projects in partnership with various multi-nationals like Krones Germany, Tetrapak Switzerland, WSP Germany and Waterleau Belgium.
  • Civil projects with Lagos State Government etc.

Engr. Amida Odebiyi is a pioneer member of Hurlag. With his leadership qualities, he has been instrumental to the growth of the company in the Department of Insulation, HVAC and Duct Work. He is currently in charge of the civil contracting wing of the company which is Dexter Construction and he is doing wonderfully well in that area.

Odebiyi is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants.

He has travelled to various parts of the world to expand his knowledge in his chosen field. He is married to the love of his life, Alhaja Taiwo Odebiyi and they are blessed with four wonderful children.

It is in recognition of his achievements in the field of Engineering and Technical Services that Engr. Amida Ishola Odebiyi is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Development in Nigeria Merit Award which is part of the PSR National Awards 2018.
