Amida Ishola Odebiyi is a highly resourceful and accomplished engineer. He is a multi-functional professional who has over two decades of robust international experience in industrial engineering.  His practical experience primarily spans the oil & gas and manufacturing industries.

Over the years, he has risen to become a part owner and the Executive Director of Hurlag Technologies Limited- a renowned industrial engineering company with international operations across the sub-Saharan African economy.
He currently provides strategic leadership for a myriad of cross functional engineering teams (within and outside Nigeria) who have together consistently delivered innovative, bespoke and best-in-class results for the company’s clients.

He has been very effective in engineering designs, construction, installation and commissioning in the manufacturing as well as oil and gas sectors. Some of his remarkable achievements are that he :

➢ Developed the conceptual design and oversaw the installation and execution of
fuel oil upgrade in 9 locations across Nigeria
➢ Planned and executed the completion of equipment, piping and insulation
installation at the Green Field brand new Brewery for AB InBev International
➢ Managed the team that manufactured two 3160HL Fermenting Vessels and two
2690HL Storage Vessels at Nile Breweries Plc, Uganda
➢ Managed the design, construction and commission of the Nigerian Bottling
Company plant in Abuja
➢ Provided strategic direction and led the team that completed the Guinness Ogba
project expansion covering the brew house, grain silos, processes area, utilities,
DPV vessels and BBT vessels
➢ Developed the strategy and managed the execution of brewery expansion
programs at the International Breweries in Ilesa
➢ Managed the successful completion of the construction of concrete floors, plinths
and installation of 10,000-hectolitre DPV tanks in Guinness Nigeria Plc, Benin
Brewery
➢ Led a team that carried out various upgrade project in Heineken Breweries, Sierra
Leone
➢ Managed various brewery expansion project at Diageo Brewery in Douala,
Cameroon
➢ Build, manage and drive teams to conceptualize and deliver winning engineering
solutions across the oil & gas and manufacturing Industries
➢ Insulation of Pipes for Utorogu Gas Plant, Ughelli, Delta State (Shell Petroleum Development
Company Limited).

Before joining Hurlag Technologies, Odebiyi worked at AKLAB Nigeria Limited as Project Engineer. There he also recorded many sterling achievements. For instance, he managed the installation of an Effluent Treatment System
from the design stage to handover. He was also involved in the rehabilitation of many dilapidated buildings.

At AKLAB he was also involved in the repair and upgrade of steam boilers at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Lagos. He also worked on the expansion of  the utility section of Nestle Nigeria Plc as well as the equipment ,installation, pipe works, insulation and commissioning of new a bottling line. He, as Project Manager, saw to the Insulation of Pipes and Tanks for FTIP (Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited).

Amida Ishola Odebiyi was born in Lagos on August 4, 1964. He attended Government Technical College Aiyetoro, Ogun State and the famous Yaba College Of Technology where he earned the Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to do a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Technology at the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) of Grey Campus, Texas, USA.

He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), an Associate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (AMNSE), Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Specialists, United Kingdom (FIMS).

It is in recognition of his contribution to national development in the field of Engineering and Technical Services that Engr. Amida Ishola Odebiyi has been honoured with the Nigerian 60th Independence Anniversary Award for Productivity.
