Mrs. Catherine Uzoamaka Nwosu is an efficient and multi-talented corporate executive. She has over 25 years’ experience in leading and driving business transformation, operational excellence, revenue generation and cost minimization across different business lines and verticals.

She is a strategic thinker who is dynamic in creativity to solve customer problems. With a niche in capital market operations across African countries, she is widely acknowledged as an innovative and motivational leader.

Mrs. Catherine Nwosu is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Africa Prudential Plc, a foremost player in Nigeria’s registrar services industry. She is also the incumbent 2nd Vice President of the Institute of Capital Market Registrars in Nigeria (ICMR).

Catherine is currently leading the ICMR team to enshrine standardization and operational efficiency in the registrar industry of the country. She is among the key drivers of digital transformation in the Nigerian capital market. She is one of the presenters at the discussions with distinguished senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the capital market. She has also been a member of numerous sub-committees of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria over the years.

The young Catherine was educated at Community Girls Secondary School Isienu – Nsukka in Enugu State where she earned her West African Secondary School Certificate in 1986. Thereafter, she bagged a Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance (Second Class Upper Credit) from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu in 1996.

Not yet done with the pursuit of academic laurels, she enrolled for a Master’s degree in Business Administration at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State. She earned her MBA in the year 2000.

In 2011, Catherine Nwosu graduated from the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana with a B.Sc (Second Class Upper Division) in Management.

Catherine began her working life as a banker with UBA Plc in 1989. She was engaged in different banking roles within the bank in the city of Enugu between 1989 and 1998.

Thereafter, she worked with a subsidiary of the bank namely UBA Registrars Ltd as Head, Share Registration. She was with UBA Registrars Ltd from June 1998 to September 2007.

Between October 2007 and December 2009, she was Chief Compliance Officer with Africa Prudential Plc. She was elevated to the position of Chief Operating Officer at Africa Prudential in the year 2010.

Career aside, Catherine has rendered service in other areas of life and society. For instance, she is a committed member of the International Society of the Red Cross in Nigeria. Not too long ago, she chaired the fund raising for the acquisition of an ambulance for the Coker Detachment of the society in Lagos. This bus was the Red Cross ambulance used for rescue operations during the fire disaster at Abule – Ado, Lagos in March 2020.

It is in recognition of her contribution to national development in the field of Share Register Administration in Nigeria that Mrs. Catherine Uzoamaka Nwosu was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award which is part of the 21st PSR National Awards.
