Dr. Khadijah Adebisi Shittu (Nee Ahmed) is a seasoned and award winning Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, Fellow of Medical College of Gynaecologists and Member of the Royal College of Gynaecologists.

However, what stands her out today is her unique approach to child and female health management. She is the Medical Director of Katis Medical Centre, a hospital she founded in 2016 which is concentrating on children and female patients for medical and surgical treatment.

In pursuit of this professional interest, Shittu has attended many workshops, seminars and conferences and these have taken her to different parts of the world.

An indigene of Mushin in Lagos State, Khadijah Adebisi was born in January, 1983 to the family of Prince Shamsideen Adebowale Ahmed (S. Kenkenke) and Alhaja Bintu Olayibo Ahmed. She attended Foundation Junior School, Idimu, Lagos State before moving on to Federal Government College, Ijanikin, Lagos for her secondary school education. Afterwards, she proceeded to the prestigious University of Ibadan to study Medicine and Surgery.

Her first post-graduation work experience was as a Youth Corp Member on the compulsory National Youth Service at Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos Island, Lagos State.

After youth service, she worked briefly with the Lagos Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba. She started her specialty residency training to become a gynaecologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in 2012 and  became a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist after passing her West African College of Surgeons and National Medical Postgraduate College examinations in flying colours to become a Fellow of these colleges.

She won the prize award of Dr. M.A Majekodunmi Overall Best Candidate in the May 2019 Part II FMCOG examinations and Rivers State Government Award for Overall Best Candidate in Part II FMCOG examination in Nigeria.

As soon as she became a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, the Lagos State Health Service Commission employed her as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for Ikorodu General Hospital. She rose to the rank of Head of Department, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Maternal and Child Care Centre, Ikorodu General Hospital. During this period, she was also a Supervising Consultant and Mentor for Ikorodu Local Government on National Cervical Cancer Screening organized by Clinton Health Access Initiative, USA.

She is currently a Specialty Registrar, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Royal United Hospital Trust NHS, Bath, United Kingdom where she hopes to train as a Gynaecology Oncologist.

She has several publications in peer reviewed journals. Khadijah is happily married to Mr. Ibrahim Adetunji Shittu and the union is blessed with children.

It is in recognition of her accomplishments in Human Medicine (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) that Dr Khadijah Adebisi Shittu was deemed worthy to be conferred with the  Nigerian Achievement Award.
