The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of Amina Divine Arong as the new National Woman Leader, succeeding Stella Effah-Attoe, who passed away four months ago. PDP spokesman Debo Ologunagba confirmed the appointment in a statement released on Thursday.
Arong, a prominent Party women mobilizer from Cross River State, holds a diploma in Banking and Finance and a BSc in Accounting. She will complete the term of the late woman leader, as stated by the PDP spokesperson.
Ologunagba emphasized Arong’s intellectual capacity, experience, competence, and commitment to mobilizing women for the Party at both state and national levels. He commended her leading roles in mobilizing various Party Women and Youth groups and conducting Party Primaries and Congresses nationwide.
The PDP expressed satisfaction with Arong’s dedication to the party’s growth and urged her to collaborate with other members of the National Working Committee for the Party’s stability, growth, and success.
Effah-Attoe, who passed away in late October after a brief illness, was mourned by the PDP, which described her demise as a significant loss to both the party and the nation.
