Dr. (Prince) Shafiu Adewole Ademola is a distinguished Nursing Educator, Researcher, and Community Leader from the Kapo-Fowosere Ruling Houses in Ilese, Ijebu North-East Local Government Area of Ogun State. Born to the late Omoba Munirudeen Ademola Olisa and Princess Sarat Ajoke Ademola Olisa, he began his academic journey at Moslem Primary School, Ilese-Ijebu, graduating as Assistant Head Boy, before excelling at Ilese Comprehensive High School and St. Anthony Grammar School, Esure, where he served as Senior Prefect (1995) and earned A’s in all science subjects.

His passion for nursing led him to the School of Nursing, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1999), where he won a Federal Government Scholarship and the National Florence Nightingale Speech Contest (2002), etching his name on the national trophy for 16 years.

A lifelong scholar, Dr. Ademola graduated as Best Student in Anatomy & Physiology and Maternal & Child Health, earning his RN before obtaining a BNSc (Second Class Upper) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in 2015. He later secured a Distinction in Public Health Nursing at Ogun State College of Health Technology, became a Registered Midwife (RM) via LAUTECH (2018), and completed a PGDE at Tai Solarin University of Education (2020), registering as a Midwife Educator with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

In 2020, he earned an MSc in Nursing Science specializing in Maternal and Child Health from Babcock University, and in 2025, he earned his PhD in Nursing from Babcock University becoming the first indigenous PhD holder in Maternal and Child Health from Ijebu North-East and the first Muslim PhD in the field in Ogun East Senatorial District. He is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Nurses and Midwives (FWPCNM) having been inducted in Monrovia, Liberia in May, 2025. Apart from his nursing qualifications, he holds a Professional Certificate in Islamic Finance from Bayero University, Kano.

With over 10 years of clinical practice and extensive teaching experience, Dr. Ademola currently serves as Head of Department (Nursing) at Crescent University, Abeokuta, and has taught at School of Basic Midwifery, Saki, JAFAD College of Nursing Science, Al-Hikmah University, and Olabisi Onabanjo University. A Nursing and Midwifery Council External Examiner, he has supervised over 50 diploma and 80 BNSc research projects, mentored students globally, and published extensively in local and international journals. He is a Research Fellow at Eudoxia Research University, USA, and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International. A seasoned conference speaker, he presents on maternal and child health, nursing education, and public health.

Beyond academia, Prince Ademola is the Deputy Chief Imam of Ilese Central Mosque and the Secretary of the League of Imams & Alfas of Ijebu Land. He holds leadership roles in Islamic education and community development. He is the Proprietor of Ibadur-Rahman Group of Schools, Ilese, Ogun State and Director of Al-Ihsaan Agro-farm, Ilese. A devoted husband to Nurses Hajia Thabitah Shafiu and Hajia Mulikat Okugbesan-Shafiu, he is a proud father.

It was in recognition of his Sterling Contribution to Nation Building in the Sphere of Nursing Education that Dr. (Prince) Shafiu Adewole Ademola was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Nigerian Achievement Award.
