Vice President Kashim Shettima has commended Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo for his contributions to national development, describing him as a unifying figure whose ideas have strengthened Nigeria’s political and economic landscape.

Speaking on Tuesday in Awka while representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Soludo’s second-term inauguration, Shettima said the governor’s “constructive advice” has positively influenced federal policies.

He praised Soludo as “a man of ideas and honour,” noting that his leadership style promotes unity, dialogue, and national progress despite political differences.

The Vice President also highlighted improved relations between Anambra State and the Federal Government, crediting Soludo’s approach for fostering cooperation and stability. He added that the governor’s administration has made strides in security and governance, expressing confidence that the second term would consolidate existing gains.

Shettima further noted that political differences should not breed hostility but serve as opportunities for collaboration in nation-building.

In his inaugural address, Soludo pledged to deepen development across key sectors, including health, education, and agriculture, while building on the achievements of his first term. He thanked the people of Anambra for their overwhelming electoral support, describing it as a mandate to continue transforming the state.

The governor also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu and the Vice President for their support, while reaffirming his vision to position Anambra as a major economic hub by 2030.

The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, among other political and traditional leaders.
