President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to distribute rice across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to support Nigerians observing the Ramadan and Lent seasons.

The directive was disclosed by Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, in a statement at the weekend.

Uzodimma said the initiative aims to promote national unity and demonstrate compassion during a period of spiritual reflection for both Muslims and Christians.

According to him, the distribution will be coordinated through the group’s grassroots network across states, local governments and wards to ensure families across the country benefit from the intervention.

He noted that a similar rice distribution programme was carried out during the last Christmas season to support Nigerians during the festive period.

“This initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to unity and compassion. Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity and care for one another,” Uzodimma said.

He added that the nationwide distribution would ensure that both Christian and Muslim communities benefit from the support while strengthening interfaith harmony and shared national values.
