The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance following his screening by lawmakers in Abuja.
Oyedele’s confirmation came after senators considered his nomination and approved it during plenary presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier forwarded Oyedele’s name to the Senate for screening and confirmation as part of adjustments within the Federal Executive Council.
Before his nomination, Oyedele served as chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he led initiatives aimed at reforming Nigeria’s tax system and strengthening government revenue.
Lawmakers expressed confidence in his expertise in fiscal policy and economic management before approving his appointment as Minister of State for Finance.
