The All Progressives Congress has waived the screening requirement for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
The decision was reached during the 188th meeting of the party’s National Working Committee held on May 6, 2026.
According to a statement by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, the committee said Tinubu was deemed duly screened in line with the party’s constitution.
The APC said the waiver followed overwhelming endorsements and votes of confidence received by the President from key party stakeholders, including the Progressive Governors Forum, members of the National Assembly, and other party organs.
The party also noted that Tinubu had already undergone screening before the 2022 presidential primaries, making another appearance before a screening committee unnecessary.
