Dr. Mrs. Joan Agha is a renowned philanthropist, life coach, mentor, podcaster and community leader whose life is dedicated to uplifting humanity, empowering women and young people and supporting the less privileged. She is the Founder and President of Joan Agha Foundation, a humanitarian and empowerment-focused organisation committed to creating positive and sustainable change in society.
Driven by her conviction that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, fulfil their potential and contribute meaningfully to society, Dr. Agha has devoted considerable time and resources to charitable service, personal development and community advancement. Her leadership is characterised by compassion, integrity, generosity and an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of others.
Through Joan Agha Foundation, she has initiated and supported programmes that address the needs of women, young people, children and economically disadvantaged members of society. The Foundation’s activities are built around three principal areas: charity and humanitarian assistance, women’s empowerment, and youth development.
Charity and Humanitarian Service
Under Dr. Agha’s leadership, Joan Agha Foundation has consistently reached out to vulnerable individuals and families through the distribution of food and essential supplies. The Foundation believes that meeting people’s immediate needs is an important expression of compassion and a vital first step towards restoring hope and dignity.
One of its notable initiatives is its annual charity outreach held in commemoration of the International Day of Charity and the legacy of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. In September 2026, the Foundation provided packages of rice, beans, yam and salt to 31 cleaning and security personnel of the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki, Lagos. The initiative recognised the valuable contributions of these often-overlooked workers and demonstrated that every person deserves to be seen, appreciated and supported.
Beyond organised outreach programmes, Dr. Agha is personally committed to assisting individuals experiencing hardship and encouraging others to embrace generosity and social responsibility.
Women’s Empowerment
The advancement of women is central to the mission of Joan Agha Foundation. Dr. Agha believes that when women are equipped with knowledge, confidence and economic opportunities, they become powerful agents of transformation within their families, communities and the wider society.
The Foundation therefore provides platforms for women to receive practical information, inspiration and guidance. Its 2026 International Women’s Day programme, themed “Give to Gain,” focused on women’s financial empowerment. The programme included a keynote presentation titled “The New Tax Law: All You Need to Know,” designed to help women understand important financial and regulatory matters affecting their businesses and livelihoods.
Through such initiatives, Dr. Agha promotes financial literacy, entrepreneurship, self-reliance, purposeful living and personal development among women. She also mentors and encourages women to recognise their abilities, pursue their aspirations and take responsibility for building the lives they desire.
Youth and Children’s Development
Dr. Agha is deeply passionate about the moral, spiritual and personal development of children and young people. She believes that investing in the younger generation is one of the most effective ways of building a peaceful, responsible and progressive society.
For many years, she has devoted herself to the formation and mentorship of children through her service as Coordinator of Sunday School and Children’s Mass at the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki. In this role, she supports the spiritual education, character formation and values-based development of children between the ages of four and twelve.
Her dedication to children’s development was recognised in August 2026 by the Holy Childhood Association, which presented her with an Award of Recognition for her encouragement, service, dedication and guidance. This honour affirmed her longstanding commitment to nurturing children in faith, love, discipline, confidence and responsible citizenship.
Through the Joan Agha Foundation and her wider community service, she continues to encourage young people to embrace education, develop their talents, cultivate good values and become positive contributors to society.
Personal Development and Life Coaching
Dr. Agha is also the Founder and Director of Joan Agha Life Coaching Academy, where she promotes personal growth, clarity, confidence, resilience and purposeful living. Through coaching, mentoring and training, she helps individuals overcome limiting beliefs, recognise their potential and take practical steps towards achieving meaningful goals.
She is the host of the personal-development podcast, “Elevate with Dr. Joan Agha.” Through the programme, she shares practical insights on resilience, confidence, healthy boundaries, gratitude, self-control, discovering one’s life purpose and becoming the highest version of oneself. Her work extends her message of empowerment beyond physical programmes and enables her to reach a wider audience.

Dr. Mrs. Joan Agha’s approach to leadership is rooted in service. She does not merely advocate for positive change; she actively creates opportunities for people to experience it.
