Mr. Achike Charles Umunna is a legal luminary, diplomat, arbitrator and corporate director whose illustrious career spans over four decades of distinguished service. As  Founder and Principal Counsel of Achike Umunna and Associates—established in 1986—he has built an enduring legacy of excellence in litigation, commercial arbitration, corporate restructuring and complex legal advisory.

Beyond his domestic practice, Umunna holds a highly distinguished position as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria and Head of the Lagos Consulate. His international footprint is marked by high-profile representations, including acting for foreign governments such as Bulgaria, Romania and the Czech Republic on major privatization initiatives and representing Nigeria at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC-Paris) in the resolution of complex cross-border investment disputes. He has also served as a vital bridge for global commerce, successfully negotiating major transactions in aviation, mining, shippin and telecommunications alongside international corporations from China, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, and Poland.

In the corporate sphere, Umunna brings strategic governance expertise as a Director of Vitafoam Nigeria Plc and its group of companies, including Vono Plc, Vitapur Limited and Vitabloom Limited. A Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (United Kingdom) and the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC Nigeria), as well as a member of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), he has contributed extensively to financial sector growth, having consulted on the establishment and licensing of several commercial and merchant banks in Nigeria.
