The man widely regarded as one of the finest and most erudite judges Nigeria ever produced, Justice Niki Tobi has died at the age of 75. Tobi died at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Justice Niki Tobi retired from public service in 2010 as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Born on July 14, 1940 at Esanma in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, he had a distinguished career as an academic before being appointed to the Supreme Court.
He was Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Maiduguri. He later worked as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Services) of the same institution.
