President Muhammadu Buhari says no corrupt person in Nigeria will go unpunished as the menace of corruption has retarded development and dented the image of the country in the eyes of the world.
Buhari stated this on Saturday at the passing- out parade of cadets of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Superintendents Course 8 from the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, Buhari called on the EFCC to redouble its efforts in the fight against corruption in the country, urging the anti-graft agency not to spare any corrupt person irrespective of their profile.
“As part of the efforts to boost the war against corruption in Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has trained a total of 328 new investigative officers at the Nigerian Defence Academy.
“The training is to prepare them adequately ahead of their deployment as anti-graft investigators across the country. This government will ensure that every corrupt person is brought to justice,” he said.
