American actor, Eddie Murphy reunited with his former co-star and Executive Director of Events at The Hollywood Reporter, Jasmin L. Reate at the Toronto Film Festival, 33 years after they both starred in The Golden Child.
Murphy, who was at the festival to promote his upcoming movie, Dolemite Is My Name stopped by the studio of The Hollywood Reporter located at the St. Regis Hotel where he caught up with Reate.
Ms. Reate played the titular role in the film. In case you missed it, the ‘boy’ in the 1986 movie was in fact played by a female.
The film centred on a private detective named Chandler Jarrell who specializes in missing children and is charged with the huge responsibility of saving ‘The Golden Child’ whom he was told will save humankind.
The cast also included Charles Dance, who went on to land a number of film and TV roles, most notably playing Tywin Lannister in HBO’s Game Of Thrones.
“He was just as kind as I remembered him when I was 6,” Reate told reporters after the reunion with her former co-star.
