The Supreme Court today upheld the election of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu as Governor of Abia State.
Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour who led a seven-man panel of justices gave the judgement.
The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Alex Otti had challenged the electoral victory of Ikpeazu but lost at both the Election Petitions Tribunal and the Appeal Court. He then proceeded to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court held that the Appeal by Dr Alex Otti was a waste of time and abuse of court processes and therefore dismissed it for lacking in merit.
