Some students and staff of Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State were this Wednesday morning kidnapped by armed bandits who stormed their school. A student was also reportedly killed by the bandits during the attack.
The bandits, according to a report by PRNigeria, a news outfit with close links with Nigerian security agencies, were dressed in military uniforms as they attacked the boarding school in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
PRNigeria further said that after a headcount was conducted at the school on Wednesday, 280 students were yet to be accounted for. Also yet to be accounted for are three teaching staff, one clerk, as well as the wife and six children of a staff member of the college.
The abduction was also confirmed by former Nigerian senator, Shehu Sani via his twitter handle. He wrote:
