
Nigerian senators have voted in support of the Local Government Financial Autonomy Bill.
The bill seeks an alteration of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), to give financial autonomy to the local government councils in Nigeria.
Ninety-two out of the 109 senators voted in support of the bill.
