The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the Top Five Nominees in each men’s category for the highly anticipated CAF Awards 2024. The awards ceremony, celebrating excellence in African football, is scheduled to take place on December 16, 2024, in Marrakech, Morocco.
Highlighting the evening will be the crowning of the CAF African Player of the Year for both men’s and women’s categories. Nominees for the men’s Player of the Year title include:
- Simon Adingra (Cote d’Ivoire / Brighton & Hove Albion)
- Serhou Guirassy (Guinea / Borussia Dortmund)
- Achraf Hakimi (Morocco / Paris Saint-Germain)
- Ademola Lookman (Nigeria / Atalanta)
- Ronwen Williams (South Africa / Mamelodi Sundowns)
CAF has confirmed seven categories for the men’s awards, which also include Goalkeeper of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Club of the Year, and National Team of the Year. The awards cover performances between January and October 2024, recognizing both club and national competition achievements.

Club of the Year: Al Ahly (Egypt), Zamalek (Egypt), RS Berkane (Morocco), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia).
National Team of the Year: Cote d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan.
