The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the recruitment of 3,000 qualified professionals into the state’s Mainstream Civil Service in a major push to improve public service delivery and expand youth employment.
Governor Umo Eno approved the exercise, which spans a wide range of disciplines including education, healthcare, engineering, law, agriculture, science, and administration.
In a statement issued on Monday, Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Frank Ekpenyong, said the recruitment will be conducted exclusively through the state’s ARISE Youth Employment Portal: https://employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng.
“This initiative is part of the governor’s commitment to transparency and job creation under the ARISE Agenda,” Ekpenyong stated. “These appointments span every discipline and cadre, including teachers, nurses, administrators, engineers, scientists, state counsels, technicians, accountants, agriculturists, and many more.”
Applicants must create profiles on the portal and upload all required documents such as academic certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, and other relevant credentials. Candidates are expected to apply for only one vacancy that matches their qualifications, and a valid email address will serve as the only official means of communication throughout the process.
Shortlisted candidates will be notified via the portal and must accept their selection online. QR-coded invitation slips will be issued to those selected for interviews, with some roles requiring aptitude tests. Clear instructions, including test dates and guidelines, will also be shared through the portal.
Applicants must present original certificates, a printed invitation slip, and writing materials on the day of the test or interview. Final notifications for successful candidates will be sent through the portal, and those hired will be directed to report to their assigned departments for documentation and onboarding.
“Once your appointment is confirmed, your status on the ARISE Employment Portal will be updated to ‘Employed,’” the commissioner added.
Ekpenyong further revealed that individual departments are finalising documentation for their respective vacancies, with job listings expected to go live on or before July 31, 2025.
“We wish all applicants the very best and thank you for your interest in serving the state,” he said.
