
Dr. Abdullah Adeyemi Badrudeen is a highly distinguished Orthopaedic, Trauma, and Spine Surgeon whose exceptional contributions to human medicine have been widely acknowlwdged in Nigeria and beyond. With over 17 years of progressive experience across leading medical institutions, he stands as one of the nation’s most accomplished specialists in orthopaedic trauma care, spine surgery, and advanced reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Badrudeen obtained his West Africa Senior School Certificate in 1998 before proceeding to the prestigious University of Ilorin to study Medicine. There he earned his MBBS degree in 2006, followed by his residency in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
His quest for excellence propelled him to earn multiple qualifications relating to his field including a Part II Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (2018), an MSc in Public Health from the University of South Wales (2021), and specialized training in Leadership, Health Policy, and Advocacy from the University of Washington (2023). He is currently an MBA candidate at the University of East London.
A surgeon with global exposure, Dr. Badrudeen has trained at world-class centres including the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Centre, the P.D. Hinduja National Hospital in India, and the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi. His international fellowships—particularly his AO Spine Fellowship—have strengthened his expertise in limb reconstruction, deformity correction, arthroplasty, spine stabilization, and complex trauma care.
He has served with distinction in several hospitals, including Lagoon Hospitals (Consultant Orthopaedic, Trauma and Spine Surgeon), Deseret International Hospital (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon), and the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe (Medical Officer). He currently serves as Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Trauma and Spine Surgeon at Vedic Lifecare Hospital, Lekki, Lagos where he leads cutting-edge interventions that have restored mobility, reduced disability and transformed countless lives.
His leadership extends beyond the operating room. Dr. Badrudeen has chaired multiple institutional committees, including Occupational Health & Safety and the COVID-19 Handbook Committee at Lagoon Hospitals and served on strategic transformation committees which strengthened hospital systems and patient care quality.
A recipient of numerous national and international awards—including the AO Spine Fellowship Award, the Federal Government Scholarship for Academic Excellence, and multiple merit recognitions—his career is defined by excellence, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to medical advancement.
Fluent in English and Yoruba, with working knowledge of Hausa, Russian, Arabic, and French, Dr. Badrudeen is also a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, the Nigerian Orthopaedic Association, AO Spine International, Advanced Trauma Life Support(ATLS India), and a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.

It was in recognition of his Sterling Contribution to Nation Building in the Sphere of Human Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) that Dr. Abdullah Adeyemi Badrudeen was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Nigerian Achievement Award.
