President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services and other security agencies to launch a coordinated operation to rescue victims of the recent mass abduction in Niger State.

Dozens of worshippers were reportedly abducted by terrorists during Juma’at prayers at four mosques in communities within Borgu Local Government Area last Friday.

In a statement, the President condemned the attack and the killing of innocent citizens, describing the perpetrators as enemies of peace and humanity.

Tinubu directed the Service Chiefs to provide regular updates on the rescue operation, pledging that the Federal Government would support Niger State with security reinforcement, recovery and relief efforts until all abducted persons were accounted for.
