President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner, patriot and dedicated public servant.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Tinubu extended his greetings to Shettima’s wife, Nana, his children, family members and political associates, while commending his contributions to Borno State and Nigeria.
The President praised Shettima’s career in banking and his record in public service, particularly his tenure as Governor of Borno State and his service as Vice-President.
Tinubu said Shettima had demonstrated courage, diligence and compassion in both positions, while remaining committed to national unity and development.
He also commended the Vice-President for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), support for the administration and dedication to the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As Chairman of the National Economic Council, Tinubu said Shettima had provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policies and strengthening cooperation between the Federal Government and state governments.
The President described Shettima’s loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty as invaluable to the administration, expressing confidence that their continued partnership would help deliver on the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to guide, protect and strengthen Shettima, granting him wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.
