Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued six kidnapped victims after engaging suspected terrorists along the Wasagu-Ayu Road in Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The operation was carried out on September 2 following credible intelligence on the presence of the terrorists at Mehinua Village. Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, mobilised to the area and engaged the suspects in an intense exchange of fire.
The soldiers’ superior firepower forced the terrorists to flee into the surrounding area, abandoning the victims, who were rescued unharmed. A vehicle was also recovered during the operation and handed over, alongside the victims, to relevant authorities for further action.
