The Lagos State Government has announced a 35-day rehabilitation of Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, from Adetokunbo Ademola/Civic Centre to Samuel Manuwa/BJ, beginning Monday, October 19, 2026.

The government said a contra-flow arrangement would be introduced on the Lagos-bound carriageway between Samuel Manuwa and Adetokunbo Ademola/Civic Centre while repairs are carried out on the opposite lane.

Motorists travelling from Bonny Camp and Falomo towards Civic Centre and Lekki are advised to use Adeyemo Alakija Street, Adeola Hopewell Street, Akinbo Savage Street and Bishop Aboyade Cole Street, connecting through School Corner near Black Diamond towards Sandfield.

Drivers heading from Falomo towards Akin Adesola can access the Coastal Road entrance through IMB and Adetokunbo Ademola Road, proceed to Eko Hotel Roundabout, and continue through Ajose Adeogun and Ligali streets towards Black Diamond School Corner.

Motorists departing Bonny Camp are advised to use Ahmadu Bello Way to reach Eko Hotel Roundabout through IMB and the Coastal Road entrance, before proceeding through Bishop Aboyade Cole, Adetokunbo Ademola, Ajose Adeogun and Ligali streets towards Black Diamond School Corner.

Traffic from Eko Hotel travelling along Adetokunbo Ademola Road towards Civic Centre will be diverted through Bishop Aboyade Cole Street and School Corner towards Sandfield. Vehicles exiting the 1004 Estate gate, alongside other road users in the area, will be directed to turn left or make a U-turn in front of the gate before proceeding through the same route.

Motorists travelling from Eko Hotel towards Falomo and Ikoyi are advised to use Sanusi Fafunwa Street to connect to Akin Adesola Street and the ramp bridge.

The government said the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would deploy officers to manage traffic, reduce congestion and minimise inconvenience during the rehabilitation.

Motorists have been urged to plan their journeys ahead, obey traffic officials and cooperate with the temporary traffic arrangements throughout the construction period.
